Tepian (tepian.ai) is operated by Quantscope Inc. (“Quantscope”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). We help renters in Canada discover rental properties through conversational AI search.

Quantscope Inc. is the data controller responsible for your personal information collected through the Tepian platform. This policy describes how we collect, use, and share personal information when you use our platform, and the rights you have regarding your data.

Information you give us directly

• Account registration: email address and display name when you create an account.
• Search queries: the natural-language descriptions you enter to search for rentals.
• Saved searches: searches you choose to save for later re-use.
• Profile updates: any changes you make to your display name or account settings.

Information collected automatically

• Usage data: pages visited, features used, and general interaction patterns within the platform.
• Device & browser information: browser type, operating system, and screen resolution.
• IP address: used to infer approximate region for search relevance and security purposes.

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the Tepian platform.
• Process your search queries and return relevant rental matches.
• Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
• Store and retrieve your saved searches when you request them.
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
• Comply with applicable laws and regulations.
• Communicate service updates or changes to this policy (we will not send marketing emails without your explicit consent).

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data to build advertising profiles or target you with ads.

We rely on the following bases for processing your personal information under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws:

• Contract performance: processing necessary to provide the services you signed up for.
• Consent: for optional features (e.g., saved searches, analytics cookies) - you may withdraw consent at any time.
• Legitimate interests: for security, fraud prevention, and improving the platform, where these interests are not overridden by your rights.
• Legal obligation: where processing is required by applicable law.

We share personal information only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers: trusted third parties who help us operate the platform (cloud infrastructure, email delivery, authentication). These providers process data only on our behalf and are bound by confidentiality obligations.
• Legal requirements: if required by court order, law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Tepian or its users.
• Business transfer: in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may transfer to a successor entity under the same privacy protections.

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or legitimate security purposes.

You have the right to:

• Access: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correction: request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
• Deletion (right to erasure): permanently delete your account and all associated personal data - including your profile, saved searches, saved listings, and conversation history. You can do this yourself at any time from the Profile page (scroll to “Danger zone” and follow the confirmation steps). Deletion is immediate and irreversible. We remove all personal data within 30 days of the request, except where retention is required by law.
• Withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
• Complaint: lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) if you believe your privacy rights have been violated.

We use industry-standard security measures - including TLS encryption in transit, encrypted storage at rest, and access controls - to protect your personal information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we will notify you of any material breach as required by law.

Tepian is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn we have inadvertently collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in-app notice. Your continued use of Tepian after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
